The great Physician is an old, yet relevant classic hymn, written by William Hunter. It is a song of assurance and hope which reaches the soul to calm our worries at a time of distress, such as we are in the world today; this time of great turmoil.
It is so comforting to know that there is a great Physician who does not only heal our mortal bodies, but also heals our heart, souls and even the land!
This great Physician; Jesus our saviour, empathizes with us and knows how much we can bear;
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin”. (Hebrews 4 vs 15)
This version – THE GREAT PHYSICIAN, chorused in English and three Nigerian languages; Igala, Yoruba and Hausa, was inspired on one of my quiet times and it was impressed on my mind to share with everyone.
